Day 1
Phnom Penh

PHNOM PENH ARRIVAL

Arrive at Phnom Penh International Airport. A warm welcome by your tour guide  before checking in at your hotel. In the afternoon discover the 19th century royal palace at the shores of Tonle Sap River. Stroll through the throne room, the public areas, the gardens and the Silver Pagoda, a complex of stupas, shrines and monuments. Treasures here include a floor covered with over 5000 real silver tiles, a large jade Buddha, a 90 kg diamond encrusted gold Buddha and 1,650 artefacts.

Day 2
Tonle Sap Lake

PHNOM PENH – TONLE SAP RIVER (B, L)

After breakfast continue your Cambodian adventure on a city tour starting with the National Museum. A beautiful building in the Khmer style housing 13,000 Khmer and other objects. Move on to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, once the Khmer Rouge Security Prison 21 where atrocities were committed between 1975 and 1979. Visit the Russian Market in downtown Phnom Penh in the afternoon. It is probably the city’s best source for handcrafted objects, affordable clothing, and unique souvenirs among other things. A sunset boat trip on Tonle Sap River will end your day.

Day 3
Sen Monorom

PHNOM PENH – KAMPONG CHAM – SEN MONOROM (B, L, D)

Enjoy an early breakfast and depart on a 386 km journey to Mondulkiri north east of Phonm Penh. Cross the Mekong River and pass through Kampong Cham, Cambodia’s third largest city. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue your journey to Sen Monorom, the capital of Mondulkiri Province on the border to Vietnam. Capture photos of rubber tree and cashew plantations passing by and of the scenic thick forested hilly landscape.

Day 4
Sen Monrom

SEN MONOROM: PAHLUNG (B, L, D)

Start early on a full day excursion to the tribal village of Pahlung to have a cultural experience with the indigenous Bunong people. Ride an elephant in this rural area and afterwards you will sample a traditional lunch together with local people in their home. Return to your hotel after a day full of surprises.

Day 5
Sen Monorom

SEN MONOROM: BOUSRA (B, L, D)

Set off to Bousra waterfall 43 Km from Sen Monorom. The upper tier of this double drop waterfall is about 10 m while the lower section is around 25 m. It is possible to get to the bottom along some steep steps. Enjoy your lunch in a restaurant at the waterfall. Return to town for more sightseeing and a visit to the local market.

Day 6
Kratie

SEN MONOROM – KRATIE (B, L, D)

After an early breakfast drive to the town of Kratie about 200 Km from Sen Monoram. This town by the Mekong is famous for the critically endangered Irrawaddy Dolphins. Only around 60 of these elusive creatures are found in the wild. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to see them. Board a boat on arrival and set out to see the dolphins. Lunch at a local restaurant. Late afternoon check into your hotel.

Day 7
Siem Reap

KRATIE – CHLONG – KOMPONG THOM – SIEM REAP (B, L)

After breakfast your journey continues to Siem Reap. The adventurous part of today  will be crossing the Mekong River on a local ferry. Your journey will be enriched by views of tobacco & pepper farms and rubber plantations. Lunch at a local restaurant. Stop at Kompong Kdei Village to see the 12th century 87 meters long, 16 meters wide and 10 meters high corbelled stone arch bridge, its 21 narrow arches span the Chi Kreng River. Arrive at Siem Reap in the evening and check into your hotel.

SIEM REAP: ANGKOR WAT – TA PROM – JUNGLE TEMPLE (B, L)

Leave early to discover Angkor Thom, the capital of Angkor from the 12th to the 15th century. Enter through the south gate with the demon balustrade, the biggest and the best preserved of its five gates and visit famous sites such as the Bayon temple, the Royal Palace area, the Terraces of Elephants and that of the Leper King and other antiquities. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Angkor Wat and Ta Prom in the afternoon. Both sites are among the most visited on for their architectural style and decorative details and in the case of Ta Prom its unique atmosphere, for good reason the temple rightly known as the “Jungle Temple”. Climb the central tower and watch the sunset over Angkor Wat. Return to your hotel.

Siem Reap

SIEM REAP: KHMER VILLAGE – TA PROHM – PREAH KHAN (B, L)

Leave after breakfast to visit Banteay Srei and Pre Rup temples north of Siem Reap. Banteay Srei, a red sandstone temple is famous for its exquisite carvings of male and female apsaras and floral decorations. Pre Rup is a 10th century temple mount. It is possible to climb its central tower. Afterwards  visit a typical Khmer village. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon proceed to Ta Prohm and Preah Khan, both unrestored temples, as well as Neak Pean a small island temple. Return to your hotel.

Day 10
Tonle Sap Lake

SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP LAKE (B, D)

Experience Cambodia’s most important inland water body - Tonle Sap Lake - with a boat cruise and visits to Khmer fishing & floating villages. Depart on a cruise from Chong Kneas pier. Go through villages of varying sizes with buildings on pontoons and stilts. Observe villagers getting about their daily lives. On the back to your hotel you will stop at “Les Artisans d’ Angkor”, National Silk and Khmer Ceramics that display products made by local crafts people using age old techniques. Free time in the afternoon. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 11
Sihanoukville

SIEM REAP – SIHANOUKVILLE (B)

Breakfast at hotel and relax until it is time to leave for the flight to Sihanoukville, Cambodia’s premier beach destination. Your guide will send you off to your beach stay. Check into your hotel on arrival on your own.

SIHANOUKVILLE (B)

After breakfast head to one of many beaches or offshore islands. Activities on offer include snorkelling, jet skiing, sea kayaking, sunset cruises, diving or simply lazing around. If inclined, visit Ream National Park about 30 minutes by tuk tuk. Walking and boat tours among the mangrove forests are available with a park ranger.  Tours have to be booked in advance.
